VFR Aircraft Checkouts
Dear Renter Pilot,
Thank you for choosing Westwind! Westwind has developed aircraft checkout standards to ensure the safety of both you and your passengers. Our aircraft have some of the most advanced equipment available in a general aviation rental fleet. These standards help to ensure that you will feel comfortable and confident with the equipment and the environment in which you fly.
To get started flying with us, follow these four easy steps:
Step 1
Determine the aircraft you would like to fly and make sure you meet the mininum flight time requirements for that aircraft.
Step 2
Review and print Westwind School of Aeronautics' rental policies and procedures. Fill out the last 3 pages to bring into the school during your checkout.
Step 3
Print and fill out the aircraft checkout written test on the aircraft you wish to rent. Please bring with you to WSA during your checkout.
Note: Not all questions will apply to all aircraft, only answer questions applicable to your aircraft.
Step 4
Call Westwind School of Aeronautics' Dispatch Desk at 623-869-6973 to schedule your aircraft checkout. Expect from 0.5 to 1.0 hours of ground instruction and a 1.0- to 1.5-hour flight.
Please try to schedule at least 3 days in advance to ensure instructor and aircraft availability. Checkouts can be scheduled with shorter notice if the aircraft and instructor are available.
